Everything That Plywood Wants To Be!
Plywood is not an environmentally sustainable material. The UK imports about 1.4 million m3 of plywood every year, much of it coming from halfway around the globe. When you consider how many of these boards are used in temporary applications such as site hoardings and concrete form-work, and then land filled as a result of their toxic formaldehyde content we think it’s just too much. Furthermore plywood has to be coated with paint, varnish or wood preservative if it is to be used as an external cladding for longer periods, thus adding to the cost.
A Truly Circular Business Model
Storm Board is an eco-friendly and environmentally conscious alternative to plywood. It has hundreds of potential uses and applications both internally and externally, including construction hoardings, shelter/storage buildings, concrete formwork, tanking, flood protection, trailer repairs, fencing, lining animal pens, bin enclosures, advertising boards, toilet cubicles, furniture, screens and loads more. It can be worked like wood, but it doesn’t rot or weather. But best of all is that at the end of its useful life it can be shredded again and re-used to make new Storm Boards.
Specification
Storm Board is a 19mm thick board manufactured in standard 2440mm x 1220mm (8’ x 4’) dimensions. It is typically produced in either a black or green speckled finish. Each board weighs approximately 30kgs.
