Recycle & Raise is back!
Recycle your plastic & Raise money for charity!
Recycle & Raise, brought to you by DCW Polymers is a recycling and fundraising initiative introduced to turn plastic into funds for charities!
Our partner organisations will begin accepting your plastic tubs from November 2021 until February 2022, but in the meantime you can now save us your plastic bottle tops all year round! Find out more here
Drop-Off Points
It’s so exciting that last year over 50 businesses joined in supporting the Recycle & Raise appeal, acting as drop-off points for their local community to easily donate their tubs!
We’re looking for businesses, organisations and even local community champions to collect the tubs on our behalf for the 2021/22 collection, you can sign up below!
We’re adding to the list every week so keep checking back to find one local to you!
So please save us your tubs and donate them by 28th February 2022 so we can help make a difference to these wonderful charities!
You can find your local drop-off point using our interactive map below!
The Details
What can we recycle from November?
- Confectionery tubs
- Ice cream tubs
- Cracker/Biscuit tubs
- Milk bottle tops
- Takeaway containers
Look for the number 5 or PP symbol on the container!
How does it work?
Please donate your plastic tubs and milk bottle tops to your local drop-off point by 28th February 2022. We’ll collect from them in bulk in March and weigh the materials as they come in. After that, we’ll shred the plastics in our plastic reprocessing centre, DCW Polymers in Exeter. Finally, we use the plastics to manufacture our NEW recycled plastic benches – and all of the profit raised will be donated to our charities – Dartmoor Zoo and Mind!
Last year’s success
Over the past two years we have collected the equivalent of a staggering 65,000 tubs from the South West, and raised over £5,200 for Dartmoor Zoo and Mind! This year we are aiming even higher so get saving your tubs and tell your friends and family!
Our Chosen Charities
Mind – for better mental health
Mind is a mental health charity who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. Covid-19 restrictions have affected everyone in different ways this year, 2020 has been a year of anxiety and uncertainty, and more people need mental health support than ever before, which is why it is so important to shine the light on mental health and provide support to those who may be struggling.
Dartmoor Zoological Society
Dartmoor Zoological Park is a unique zoo set in 33 acres of beautiful parkland on the outskirts of Plymouth. The Zoo’s CEO Benjamin Mee wrote a book about buying the zoo called We Bought A Zoo, which was later became the subject of a major Hollywood film starring Matt Damon and Scarlett Johannson! The Zoo registered as a charity in 2014 which has strengthened it’s future and opened up new and exciting opportunities. DCW has worked closely with Dartmoor Zoo since our MD became a trustee of the charity, and we have been in partnership with them for Recycle & Raise ever since it began in 2019!
How the funds will be split
All plastic donations we collect will be split 50/50 with Dartmoor Zoo and Mind.
We can provide a full audit trail of all plastic incoming to the processing plant so we know exactly how much plastic has been donated.
